Jahrhundert. Lizenz: Public Domain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bei so einem Titel wie diesem k\u00f6nnte man vermuten, es ginge jetzt um die Rettung Griechenlands. Nein, das ist nicht das Thema. Vielmehr stelle ich hier in unregelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Abst\u00e4nden Songs vor, die mich besonders ber\u00fchrt haben und noch immer ber\u00fchren.<\/p>\n<p>Salmakis ist eine Nymphe aus der griechischen Mythologie, die \u00fcber der gleichnamigen Quelle wachte. Ein Versiegen der Quelle wurde nicht so gerne gesehen. Als Strafe gab es keinen versch\u00e4rften Putzdienst, sondern den Tod. Salmakis verband sich der Mythologie nach mit Hermaphroditus zu einem zweigeschlechtlichen Wesen.<\/p>\n<p>Genesis verarbeite den Stoff im Song <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=In2fRySroH8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Fountain of Salmacis<\/a> (also &#8222;Die Quelle der Salmakis&#8220;), der auf dem Album &#8222;Nursery Cryme&#8220; erschien. Peter Gabriel singt hierbei &#8222;We shall be one, we shall be joined as one.&#8220; (&#8222;Wir werden eins sein, wir werden zu einem vereint.&#8220;). Pete Lazonby hat einen Sample des Songs 1994 in seinem Trance-St\u00fcck &#8222;Sacred Cycles&#8220; verarbeitet. Herausgekommen ist eine einzigartige Atmosph\u00e4re \u2013 sicher einer der besten Trance-Songs aller Zeiten. Selbst Sekundenbruchteile des St\u00fcckes lassen sich m\u00fchelos unter Tausenden anderer Songs heraush\u00f6ren \u2013 vor allem wegen des erw\u00e4hnten Samples, der sehr einpr\u00e4gsam ist.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/rve_BTVeqYU\" width=\"640\" height=\"385\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ist die griechische Mythologie nicht schon schwerer Stoff genug, ist im Intro und Outro des Songs auch noch der Auszug einer Rede von Osho (*1931, \u20201990; indischer Philosophieprofessor und Begr\u00fcnder der Neo-Sannyas-Bewegung; bis Ende 1988 nannte er sich Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh) zu h\u00f6ren (ja, es ist &#8222;der&#8220; Bhagwan)<sup>2<\/sup>, wobei sich der Song mitten in die Rede einblendet:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And it is good that not all are roses, that not all are lotuses. But something very mysterious is happening here, Darius, you can see: all kinds of people are here, from almost every country, from every religion, and nobody teaches them to be tolerant and nobody teaches them to be respectful of the other\u2018s religion. These things are simply not talked about, and still nobody is intolerant. In fact, nobody thinks in terms that the other is other. This is a totally different vision. My approach is that you have to drop [&#8230;]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hier bricht im Song die Rede sinnentstellend ab, im Outro des Songs wird die Rede dann fortgesetzt<sup>3<\/sup>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[&#8230;] \u2013 not to imbibe tolerance, not to imbibe a certain synthesis, manipulated, man-made \u2013 you have to drop this whole nonsense of the American way of life and the Indian way of life and the Chinese way of life. You have to drop this whole nonsense that &#8222;I am a Hindu, Mohammedan, Parsi, Sikh.&#8220; You are just a human being! Maybe your colour is different \u2014 so what? It is good that there are people of different colours, different flowers. Your hair is different \u2014 good! It makes life more worth living, more interesting. The variety gives richness.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Das Englisch ist so simpel, dass ich auf eine \u00dcbersetzung verzichte. Die Frage, ob es jetzt eine tiefere Bedeutung gibt, warum der K\u00fcnstler gerade eine Rede Oshos eingespielt hat, oder gerade keine anderen Samples auf der Festplatte herumschwirrten, mag der Zuh\u00f6rer selbst beantworten. Zumindest die in der Technoszene allgemein propagierte Gewaltlosigkeit passt thematisch. Aber auch andere Beweggr\u00fcnde sind denkbar. Vielleicht soll ja doch Griechenland gerettet werden.<\/p>\n<p><small><sup>1<\/sup> Bedingt durch das lange Intro und Outro ist der Song kaum tanzbar. Sp\u00e4ter erschienen aber noch eine Reihe von Remixen, die keine Osho-Samples mehr enthalten. Diese Versionen sind wegen ihrer durchgehenden Beats besser Diskotheken-kompatibel.<\/small><\/p>\n<p><small><sup>2<\/sup> Die Rede wird im Outro nicht ganz nahtlos angesetzt.
